Flower Bears

The Flower Bear Pattern is free. Flower Bear kits are intermittently sold in Silver Seams' Etsy shop.

The Sunflower Bear, which I made to give my mother-in-law in the hospital, won a blue ribbon at the Kansas State Fair in the theme bear category. Granted, entering a "Kansas Day" bear with a sunflower theme is pretty much cheating, especially when I learned it was supposed to be (well, permitted to be) a bought bear, decorated.

Later, I was asked for a birthday gift for someone, and if I could make a simpler, cheaper version of Kansas Sunflower Bear, so I made Zinnia Bear:

Zinnia Bear doesn't have separate pawpads, and is just string-jointed, though this didn't really save me all that much time. Also, though I didn't think about it at the time, his lighter face means his features show up more distinctly... where folks sometimes miss Sunflower Bear in his camouflage, Zinnia Bear stands out much more.
