The Pattern
Flower Bear PatternFlower Bunny Pattern - forthcoming.
The pattern is designed to be printed at 75 DPI, resulting in a 7.5" x 10" image. At that size, use a 3/4" (about 20mm) joint set, and a miniature bear fabric (for the bears shown, I used upholstery "velvet", with a white grid backing that doesn't fray easily).
Choose artificial flowers that come off their stem, and whose centers can be removed without damaging the petals. When assembling the bear, put the pin or post from the head joint through the center of the petals. Plastic food wrap can be used to gently wrap the petals together with the head to prevent damage while you're setting the joint and sewing the body opening closed.
General teddy-bear construction instructions can be found in any teddy bear making book (and in many other places on the Internet), so I won't repeat them here.
